The Black Mountain Center for the Arts will present Connie Regan-Blake in a solo performance titled “Stepping Back in Time” at 7:30 p.m.
June 29 at the center, 225 W. State St. in Black Mountain. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Due to Regan-Blake’s stature in the storytelling community her shows regularly sell out.
As a solo performer, Regan-Blake has traveled far and wide to tell stories and teach workshops. She regularly brings her workshop participants to the arts center to share their polished work, but this time she will stand alone onstage and draw on her Irish heritage, Southern roots and sense of humor to tell stories of heroic adventures, personal experiences and at least one traditional Appalachian Mountain tale.
Always delightful and entertaining, Regan-Blake has appeared at Lincoln Center, the Smithsonian and the National Folk Festival and has performed at every National Storytelling Festival for more than 30 years. She has made numerous recordings of Appalachian and international folk tales both solo and with Barbara Freeman.
