Spirits & Spirits: an Evening of Ghost Stories and Cocktails @ Lawrenceville, GA
Oct 15 @ 8:00 pm – 9:30 pm

Attention, adults! This October, leave the kids at home and head out to Spirits & Spirits at the Aurora Theatre in Lawrenceville, Georgia.  Grab a cocktail and settle in for a bevy of terrifying tales delivered by spoken word masters with no restrictions on content or language. Connie Regan-Blake, one of America’s most celebrated storyteller, headlines this year’s night of no-holds-barred, adult storytelling. Connie, whose album, Chilling Ghost Stories: Haunting Tales for Adults & Teens, was Honored with a Storytelling World Award, is thrilled to bring a full evening of spooky stories as deliciously disturbing as she can devise.  Spirits & Spirits is hosted by Cynthia Rintye, director of the Lawrenceville Ghost Tours.  Cynthia, whose debut album, Veil of Time: Ghost Stories from Atlanta, was Honored with the 2018 Storytelling World Award, will open the evening with eerie stories and songs.  This duo will serve up audience members with an unforgettable night of cultured and clever entertainment for the Halloween season.

Morning Session:

☆ Cultivating the Storyteller in You 9:30 – 1:00pm The stories that we tell shape our lives as much as they come from our experiences. Connie Regan-Blake generously shares tools she has developed and learned throughout her trailblazing storytelling career that spans four decades. With partner exercises, a “walk through memories”, and more, you will explore both traditional and personal storytelling in a supportive atmosphere as you discover how to “embody” stories and create, foster and enjoy the bond that forms between teller and listener. Learn techniques and skills that can be useful in the corporate world or classroom, as well as in the pulpit, with family and friends or on main stage. Whether you are drawn to tell on the front porch or perform on main stages, come enjoy a taste of the “art & heart” of storytelling.

Afternoon Session:

Up Front: Stage Presence & Deep Listening 2:00 – 4:30pm Confidence, ease, and clear, compelling communication all come from a calm center. Whether it is the boardroom, a family gathering, school assembly, or main stage – this master class is for those wanting to cultivate stage presence with confidence and style. Join Connie as she creates a compassionate and playful atmosphere, where participants: • Identify and encourage your “creative center” to reduce fear and eliminate performance anxiety • Breathe new life into your stories and develop a fresh connection through ‘deep listening’ • Nurture spontaneity from the first approach to the stage, through final bows In addition, three participants will have an opportunity to tell and receive appreciations and feedback.
